The Legacy Campaign
“I’m happy for my 40+ years at 1816 N. Vermont and my heart swells with gratitude. I’ve had the chance to be a part of a community where respect and true collaboration among artists is the number one priority.
Together, we’ve been building something extraordinary since 1983 at Skylight: a place whre artists are free to stumble, fall, excel, prosper, and grow. We must now ensure that this legacy continues for future generations of artists. That is why Skylight and I have created this Legacy Campaign as a call to help sustain this cherished home for artists. I hope you will stand with me, as you always have, and honor what we’ve built together.
Creating a bright future for Skylight.

The Co-Op Program
The Gary Grossman Community Co-Op Program would allow the company to provide 80 weeks of rent-free space and venue staff support for individual artists, independent producers, and itinerant theater companies with limited resources. The five-year model is expected to impact at least 20 Los Angeles-based small itinerant theater companies and many more independent artists.
The program would simultaneously provide participants the opportunity to mount their productions at the historic Skylight Theatre and increase arts and culture programming available to Skylight audiences.

Your investment in Skylight’s Legacy Fund ensures that we can remain financially stable and artistically daring. By pledging support to general operating funds, you provide us with the flexibility we need to adapt and grow. We are building more than just a theatre company—we are building a future where art continues to inspire and unite.

The Legacy Annuity
As the visionary behind Skylight since 2000, Gary Grossman has nurtured an extraordinary body of work, championing diverse voices and producing bold, award-winning productions that have earned the company critical acclaim.
Our board of directors has designated a special fund that offers a unique opportunity to honor Gary’s legacy and term of service by contributing to an annuity gift. The capital invested in this fund will generate interest that will support Gary in his endeavors after Skylight.
