writer
Peter Buchman is returning to playwriting after twenty years of screenwriting. Peter wrote his first screenplay about Alexander the Great. It was sold for Martin Scorcese to direct. Though the movie was never made, it launched Buchman’s screenwriting career. After writing a script for DreamWorks, Steven Spielberg hired Peter to write JURASSIC PARK III. Buchman adapted the fantasy novel ERAGON into a film for 20th Century Fox. Peter subsequently wrote the screenplays for CHE: PART ONE and CHE: PART TWO. Both films were directed by Steven Soderbergh. Part One was nominated for Best Screenplay at the Goya Awards and the Cinema Writers Circle Awards. He is currently developing a TV concept that Darren Aronofsky is attached to direct. His play, CROCKERLAND, recently won the Source Theatre’s National Playwriting Competition and was a finalist for the Humana Festival, and his play, ZERO G, was developed at Sundance.
